Dear Friends, Thank you for your interest in Andante Chamber Choir. Having survived COVID (and Anno Domini) we are enjoying singing whilst raising monies for charities - over £50,000 at the last count. New members and new music means we continue to develop! We are presenting two concerts in November 2024 which may interest you - we would be delighted to see you at either or both. Saturday 9th November @ 2pm St Andrew's Church of Scotland, BERWICK - upon -TWEED We have been invited by the North Northumberland Branch of the Royal British Legion to give a REMEMBRANCE Concert to support this year's Poppy Appeal. The programme encompasses songs of loss, memory, hope, gratefulness and pride. It includes Douglas Guest's setting of Lawrence Binyon's famous poem FOR THE FALLEN, Purcell's DIDO'S LAMENT and Esenvalds' ONLY IN SLEEP, alongside CROSSING THE BAR, MOTHER OF GOD, ABENDLIED and DROP, DROP SLOW TEARS. Sunday 24th November @ 3pm St Mary & All Souls Episcopal Church, COLDSTREAM In a programme entitled REFLECTIONS the choir looks back to both the Remembrance concert and the concert series Dreamscapes - given in Duns, Haddington and Norham this year. It's a great chance to catch up on our year! As ever, our choices of music range from the 14th Century to the present day, hopefully giving something for everyone - singers, audiences, the concert promoters and even the Director! Full programme details are available on the concert pages of our website. Kind regards, John John Stone Director Andante Chamber Choir |
